The Nova launcher
One app that installs and updates everything. Sign in with your Microsoft account and press Play.
What it does
- Installs Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21.11, Fabric, Fabric API, Sodium and Iris. Game files come straight from Mojang’s servers.
- Keeps its own game folder, so your existing Minecraft installation is never touched.
- Signs you in through Microsoft’s own sign-in page — the launcher never sees your password.
- Updates the client and itself with one click.
Your own mods
Add Fabric mods and shader packs from the launcher. Before every launch it checks the whole set the same way Fabric does: it downloads missing dependencies from Modrinth, keeps the newest copy of a duplicated mod, and sets aside anything built for another game version or that would clash with Sodium or Iris — and tells you why. The game always starts.
Systems
- Windows 10 and 11
- macOS on Apple Silicon (M1 and newer)
On Windows you may see a SmartScreen notice on the first install of a new version; choose More info → Run anyway.
Questions
Do I need to own Minecraft?
Yes. You need a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition.
Will it change my existing Minecraft?
No. The launcher uses its own folder.
What happens if a mod I add does not fit?
The launcher sets it aside before the game starts and tells you the reason, for example a different game version or a missing dependency that is not available.
